TIGS decided to join the two together in one link. Because of the latter the former is important. TIGS has been giving to the community since its inception in 2006 and we will continue to post community events on our website on a monthly basis so be sure and scroll down this link to see what's going on and what has gone on.
TIGS has been providing charity to the local community's own animal protection association: Taichung Universal Animal Protection Association 台中市世界聯合保護動物協會
It is our hope that we can promote compassion and dignity for all living things while giving stray animals a better and happier life. We will be taking donations from our members and guests at our TIGS competitions every month for those that would like to help out. We will also hold fundraising events to raise awareness and funds for the TUAPA animal shelter. See Alexandra Smyrlis for more information or visit: www.tuapa.org.tw

Short Game Classic: Sunday November 6th, 2011
Here is a fun event for all golfers to enjoy (even beginners)!
TIGS will be hosting our first Short Game Classic, which is a Par-3 Tournament with some added fun pitching and chipping games!
Date: Sunday November 6th, 2011
Time: 12pm - 5pm
Place: P&P Golf Course (located just outside Taichung in Salu)
Bus: We will have a bus departing from Taichung at 11:00 (TIGS usual meeting spot) and will return at the end of the event.
Cost: 1000nt to enter the Par-3 Tournament, 200nt for additional pitching and chipping challenges.
UPDATE: The business community really came together and donated some great prizes, the TIGS players showed and played their hearts out, and our guests came out in high spirits ready to play golf, some of them for the first time! Also, our friends and volunteers did a great job keeping the even organized and running smoothly. What a collective effort! 11000NT was raised for the Taichung Universal Animal Protection Association (TUAPA), so everyone is a winner!

Amcham Charity Golf Event Saturday October 30th
The fantastic St. Andrew's Ball is taking place this November 20th hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce again this year. The British Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a charity golf event at Miramar the Friday before the St. Andrew's Ball. See the following for details.

Our Charity Auction BBQ was a great success! We had a list of amazing items to auction off, and there were many people eager to bid for them. All of the businesses who donated items received signage and info posters which included their logo, brand summary, and contact information. This way our guests could know more about them.
There were numerous bids for each of the items. All the items were sold to very happy buyers and we raised a total of 78800! The total does NOT include the cash donations made to the TUAPA box which we are sure will bring the total to about 90000nt. We surpassed our fund-raising goals, and it could not have been done without your kind support.
Best of all, everyone had a really fun time at the event. The TUAPA volunteers, the FuBar staff, the TIGS golfers and all the guests who came down made this a very fun and festive auction! Our next charity event will be in October, so stay tuned for those details.

TIGS would like to take this opportunity to say THANKS to all those who showed their support at the TIGS/TUAPA sponsored “Name That Tune” charity event on June 4th at Full House!
Everyone had a really good time playing the game, while having some good food and drinks! We raised 7600NT and awareness for TUAPA via the game and our raffle! TUAPA was also successful in selling their popular T-Shirts and merchandise bringing that total to around 10000. Thank you to all participants.

The first TIGS charity event was a great success and we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who gave their support. The Trivia Quiz Charity Night held on May 21st at FM Bar and Grill not only raised a lot of awareness and money for the charity we support: TUAPA ( Taichung Universal Animal Protection Association). Not only that, but I think everyone would agree it was a fun night and gave everyone an opportunity to meet some new people.
We had a fantastic turnout of people eager to play in our Trivia challenge, participate in our 50/50 raffle, or just make a donation and have a fun night out absorbing the atmosphere that was buzzing on FM’s wonderful outdoor seating area!
